In Memory of Our Friend and colleague David Harrhy

18 05 2007

dsc00256.JPGWords do not come easy when a friend and a colleague is taken away so young and so abruptly.

I would like all students who wish to leave a lasting comment about Mr Harrhy as a person and as a teacher to comment on this blog.

David was so committed to making ICT a great subject to all students… let’s make his dream come through at AHS now!

YEAR 9.2 ASSESSMENT TASK

12 01 2007

January 2007

Dear Year 9 Student,

From the beginning of the year we have been researching and comparing the lives of young people in the UK and the
USA.

You have helped to create an online survey and you have used one.

As a result you have been able to collect information and start to analyse the data.

We are now 3 lessons from the end of the project and we would like you to produce a report which explains what you found out.

Your reports will provide you and your teacher with your current level of attainment in ICT. This will be a focus of discussion with your parents during parents’ evening.

The best reports will be put on a website so that young people in the UK and the
USA can download them and read them for themselves.

All of you will be preparing the report for other students to read, only a selection may be asked to present their findings to the all class

YOUR TASKS

  1. Complete your analysis by producing charts to prove or disprove your hypothesis. Use the information contained in lesson 7 following this LINK.
  2. When you have made the Charts or found the Data to prove/disprove your Hypothesis, You need to follow the link below and SAVE the report that fits your current level in ICT (Ask your teacher for this). Complete the report to the best of your ability following the instructions. GO.

 Thank you and Good Luck!

12 11 2006

Hi, I thought it would be interesting to see what technological advances have happened this week.

I will simply post two pictures.

You will be the ones responsible for guessinng what they are and telling the world your opinion on whether they work well or not. Are they a true step forward in using technology to improve the way human beings communicate?

Have fun and post lots of comments.
